Rwanda Premier League outfit Mukura Victory Sports have strengthened their midfield ranks with the acquisition of Ugandan midfielder Hussein Ssenoga from Kitara FC.
The Rwandan side have secured Ssenoga’s services on a two-year contract after reaching an agreement with Kitara over the transfer of the player, who was still tied to the Ugandan club.
Ssenoga’s arrival adds another Ugandan presence to the Mukura squad, with the midfielder joining compatriot Freedom Mungudit, who moved to the club as a free agent following his departure from Lugazi FC.
The 26-year-old is expected to bring technical quality and balance to Mukura’s midfield, with his ability to dictate play through accurate passing, remain composed under pressure and operate in different roles giving the club additional options ahead of the new campaign.
Ssenoga has built a career across several Ugandan clubs, featuring for Express FC, Uganda Christian University, Free Stars, Lugazi FC and Gomba Lions before making the switch to Kitara.
His move to Rwanda also continues a growing Ugandan presence at Mukura. Goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato, who departed the club last month, previously represented the side, while Robert Mukhongtya and Juma Ssebadduka are among other Ugandans who have donned the Mukura colours in recent seasons.
Mukura finished seventh in the Rwandan top flight last season and will begin their new campaign on September 6 when they take on Gasogi United.
