KCCA return to action at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo with a point to prove, as they look to shake off the sting of their pre-international-break defeat to Vipers. That loss saw the Kasasiro Boys slip to third place, overtaken by both Police and SC Villa. A win over URA, however, could propel them right back to the summit of the table.

Jackson Magera, serving again as co-coach, will continue to marshal the touchline, with newly appointed boss Brian Ssenyondo expected to jet in only hours before kick-off. The technical team might also be tempted to hand Herbert Achai a start, despite the defender rejoining the squad barely a day before this crucial clash.

A significant share of the spotlight will fall on forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe. After two prolific seasons under Alex Isabirye at URA, his switch to Lugogo was one of the headline moves of the window. His start at KCCA has been more subdued, two goals in six outings, but the striker will be eager to make a statement against the club that groomed him into a lethal finisher.

KCCA will also count on ex-URA skipper Enock Walusimbi to steady their defensive line and keep the visitors’ advances in check.

Meanwhile, URA arrive in Lugogo carrying a reputation as the league’s draw specialists, having shared the spoils in five of their six fixtures so far. Former KCCA marksman Nelly Senkatuka leads their attacking hopes, while the availability of Moses Aliro, fresh from national duty with the Cranes in Morocco, remains uncertain.

The tax collectors sit on eight points, and victory at Lugogo would see them leapfrog KCCA in the standings. Last season offered little to separate the pair: KCCA edged the home fixture 1–0, only for URA to respond with a 1–0 victory of their own at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

In the day’s other fixture, Buhimba United Saints entertain Mbarara City at Royal Park in Butema, Hoima. Buhimba, after a bright three-game winning start, have stumbled dramatically with three straight defeats. Mbarara City, on the other hand, are yet to taste victory this season and sit second from bottom with just two points, making this a must-respond match for both camps.
