Ugandan international and winger Arafat Usama has officially drawn the curtain on his time at Lugogo, confirming his departure in a heartfelt message posted on X.
The 21-year-old, who joined the club as a teenager and grew into one of the league’s standout performers, walks away after more than four seasons. His contract expired at the end of last term, and negotiations for an extension failed to yield an agreement.
“I want to start by expressing my deepest gratitude to everyone who has been part of my journey at KCCA,” he wrote. “My time at this incredible club has come to an end, and I am truly thankful for the support, guidance and opportunities I have received. To the management, coaches, staff and my teammates – thank you for believing in me and helping me grow as a player and as a person.”
Arafat departs as one of the most admired talents in the Uganda Premier League and a recent Uganda Cranes CHAN team member.
“I will always carry the lessons and memories from this club with me. It has been an honor to wear the badge and I wish the club continued success in the years ahead,” he added.
