Uganda Cranes have dropped two spots in the latest FIFA World Rankings, falling to 85th globally. The team had been ranked 83rd in October, when FIFA last updated the standings.

During the period under review, Uganda recorded a narrow 2-1 victory over Chad in an international friendly but endured a heavy 4-0 defeat against Morocco.

Regional neighbours Tanzania and Kenya also saw declines, now ranked 112th and 113th, respectively, while Rwanda remained steady at 131st.

Next month, Uganda will face Tanzania in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage, alongside Tunisia and Nigeria, currently ranked 40th and 38th in the world.

Uganda’s highest-ever FIFA ranking came in January 2016, when they reached 62nd, while their lowest was 152nd in July 2002.

At the top of the global rankings, Spain, Argentina, France, and England retain the top four spots, with Morocco continuing as Africa’s highest-ranked nation at 11th.
