The Investigatory Chamber of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee has provisionally suspended three Buhimba United Saints FC players Fred Nkata, Dudu Ramathan and Ayebale Moses for 90 days amid serious allegations of match manipulation linked to betting activities.
The decision follows an ongoing investigation into the league fixture between Lugazi FC and Buhimba United Saints FC played on 08 November 2025, a match that investigators believe may have been deliberately influenced to benefit betting interests. Information gathered at the preliminary stage of the probe has raised strong suspicions that the contest did not unfold naturally.
Upon receiving intelligence pointing to possible manipulation, the Investigatory Chamber immediately launched formal inquiries into the match. According to FUFA, evidence obtained so far suggests potential involvement by the players now under provisional suspension, prompting the opening of official disciplinary proceedings.
The players are being investigated for a possible breach of Article 43 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code, which addresses the manipulation of football matches or competitions. FUFA has emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing and that the suspensions are a precautionary measure rather than a final judgment.

Beyond football-related sanctions, the alleged conduct may also fall foul of national law. FUFA has indicated that the matter appears to contravene criminal provisions within the National Sports Act and will therefore be reported to the Uganda Police for further action.
Citing Section 78 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code, the Chairperson of the Investigatory Chamber approved the temporary suspension of the players to safeguard the credibility and integrity of the competition while investigations continue.
FUFA is expected to provide further updates once the investigations are concluded and a final determination is reached.
