Police FC delivered a confident and controlled performance to secure a 2-0 triumph over UPDF FC in a Uganda Premier League fixture played at Kira Road Police Arena on Wednesday, sealing a season double over the army side.

The hosts set the tone early, asserting dominance in both possession and attacking intent. Their bright start paid off just eight minutes into the contest when Charles Bbaale produced a moment of brilliance, curling the ball exquisitely into the top corner to give Police a deserved lead.

Buoyed by the opener, Police continued to press forward and nearly doubled their advantage shortly after. Bbaale found himself clean through on goal in a one-on-one situation, but his effort lacked the composure needed to beat goalkeeper Richard Anyama.

At the other end, UPDF threatened to claw their way back into the match, but Police goalkeeper Sammon Oloka stood firm. In the 34th minute, he pulled off a crucial save to deny Christopher Kamagu from close range, preserving his side’s advantage heading into the break.

Police returned for the second half with renewed urgency and wasted little time extending their lead. Just seven minutes after the restart, Brian James Obedi struck from a seemingly impossible angle, firing home a stunning effort that left the visitors with a mountain to climb.

From that point on, Police managed the game efficiently, maintaining defensive discipline while limiting UPDF’s attacking opportunities.
