Uganda’s national team will have a noticeably different look this month after the technical team unveiled the squad set to travel for a pair of international friendlies in Morocco.

The Cranes will take on Chad on November 15, before locking horns with the Atlas Lions four days later, both fixtures happening on Moroccan soil.

The announcement comes with several intriguing inclusions. Goalkeepers Tom Ikara and Denis Kiggundu earn recalls, while defender Timothy Awany rejoins the setup. Midfield revelation Al Hassan Baba, currently turning heads at Romanian giants FCSB, has been handed his maiden call-up. Up front, Melvyn Lorenzen makes a surprise return nearly ten years after his solitary appearance in the 2–0 friendly loss to Zimbabwe back on May 31, 2016.

Local talent is also well represented, with nine home-based stars making the cut, including Vipers SC fan-favorite Allan Okello.

These games are more than mere tune-ups, they are a key part of Uganda’s final preparations for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations, where the Cranes are slotted into a tricky Group C alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and Tanzania.

Upon renewing his contract until 2028, @UgandaCranes head coach Paul Put has announced the squad for the upcoming international friendly matches which will be played in Morocco.#UGCranesWeGo pic.twitter.com/pzZFA1ORxL
