Vipers have a prime chance to widen the gap at the top and edge closer to an eighth league title when they welcome Entebbe UPPC to St. Maryโs Stadium, Kitende on Sunday.
KCCAโs setback against Calvary in Midigo has left the chasing trio, KCCA, SC Villa and Kitara, level on 51 points, all trailing the Venoms by four. With a game still in hand, Vipers are firmly in control and could further tilt the title race in their favour this weekend.
A win would lift the champions to 58 points, creating a seven-point cushion with six matches still to play, a number that will drop to five after this encounter. Such an advantage would put them in a commanding position as the season heads into its decisive stretch.

Vipers come into the tie on the back of a solid 2-0 victory over Buhimba United Saints, maintaining their strong run of form.
Entebbe UPPC, currently sixth with 40 points, have their own ambitions of climbing higher and could leapfrog Police with a positive result, despite falling 1-0 to KCCA in their previous match in Bugonga.
The earlier meeting between the sides ended in a narrow 1-0 win for Vipers, thanks to a second-half strike from Karim Watambala.
