KCCA FC will head into Tuesday’s crucial Uganda Premier League encounter against URA FC knowing that anything short of victory could all but end their hopes of lifting the league crown this season.
The Kasasiro Boys travel to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo for the rescheduled 4pm showdown trailing table leaders Vipers SC by three points with only two games remaining on the calendar.
With Vipers simultaneously taking on Maroons FC at Wankulukuku, the equation for KCCA is straightforward: secure maximum points and pray for a slip-up from the defending champions to keep the championship battle alive heading into the final round of fixtures.
Uganda Premier League: Vipers eye championship glory against Maroons
Co-head coach Jackson Magera insists his side remains fully focused on handling their own assignment first before paying attention to events elsewhere.
“For now, the most important thing is to win our game and hope results elsewhere go their way,” said co-head coach Magera, who promises to keep the same team.
KCCA approach the contest with momentum and belief as they continue to push Vipers all the way in one of the closest title races in recent years. The Lugogo-based side understands that failure to collect all three points at Nakivubo would hand the initiative firmly back to the Venoms.
Meanwhile, URA return to league action desperate to halt a worrying run of form that has seen them struggle for consistency in recent weeks.
The Tax Collectors are still reeling from their Uganda Cup semi-final elimination at the hands of SC Villa and have now endured ten consecutive matches without registering victory in normal time.

Head coach Hussein Mbalangu, a tactician renowned for frustrating KCCA in previous meetings, will be eager to inspire a response from his players and restore confidence before the season concludes.
Should KCCA triumph and Vipers fail to win against Maroons, the destination of the league trophy would remain undecided until the final day.
Elsewhere across the league, Police FC entertain Entebbe UPDF FC at Kamwokya, Kitara FC make the trip to face BUL FC in Njeru, while UPDF FC welcome Calvary FC in Bombo.
In other fixtures, Mbarara City FC host Buhimba United Saints FC, while Express FC take on Lugazi FC in the day’s late kick-off.
