Ugandan international striker Shaban Muhammad has officially completed a high-profile transfer to Kenyan football heavyweights Gor Mahia FC, ending weeks of speculation surrounding his next destination.
The 27-year-old goal poacher, fondly known as “Jagason”, put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Nairobi-based giants after parting ways with Libyan outfit Al Hilal Benghazi.
Shaban’s switch marks his return to East African football and silences rumours of a reunion with his former club KCCA FC. Sources close to the deal confirmed that the forward has already relocated to Nairobi and wasted no time integrating into the squad, featuring in Gor Mahia’s Tuesday evening training session.
With an impressive résumé that includes spells at Onduparaka FC, KCCA FC, Vipers SC, and Raja Casablanca in Algeria, Shaban arrives at K’Ogalo boasting international pedigree. He has represented the Uganda Cranes on 26 occasions, netting three goals for his country.

For Gor Mahia, whose home base is the iconic Nairobi City Stadium, this acquisition continues a long tradition of attracting Ugandan talent. Shaban joins a distinguished list of compatriots to don the club’s famous green shirt, following in the footsteps of Khalid Aucho, Dan Muzeyi Sserunkuma, Shafik Kagimu, and Innocent Wafula.
