KCCA FC are on the verge of completing the signing of experienced defensive midfielder Yunusu Sibira as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season, Footy-Uganda understands.
The Kasasiro Boys have made significant progress in negotiations with the highly rated midfielder, with sources indicating that personal terms have already been agreed after successful talks between the player and the club’s hierarchy. The move is now expected to be finalized in the coming days.
Sibira has emerged as one of KCCA’s top midfield targets following the departures of Joel Sserunjogi and Brian Jjara. His arrival is viewed as a major boost, bringing experience, composure and defensive stability to the heart of the team’s midfield.
Widely regarded as one of the league’s most consistent holding midfielders, Sibira is expected to compete immediately for a starting role. His familiarity with the demands of the Uganda Premier League makes him a valuable addition as KCCA look to mount a stronger challenge next season.
The midfielder enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Kitara FC, making 29 appearances in 30 league matches. During that run, he contributed two goals and one assist while playing a pivotal role in the club’s successful Uganda Cup triumph.
Before his spell at Kitara, Sibira featured for Buhimba United Saints, Mbarara City and Gaddafi FC, steadily building a reputation as one of the country’s dependable midfield performers.
KCCA have been active in the transfer market in recent weeks as they reshape their squad. The club has already unveiled Charles Lwanga, Maxwell Owachgiu and Elvis Ngonde, with Sibira set to become the latest addition as preparations for the upcoming campaign gather momentum.
