Ugandan players’ performance abroad over the weekend

Ugandan footballers continued to make their presence felt across different leagues around the world, delivering notable performances, goals, and important contributions for their respective clubs.

In Rwanda, Allan Kateregga featured for Police Rwanda FC, playing 45 minutes in their 1-1 draw against Gicumbi on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Denis Omedi, Hakim Kiwanuka, and Ronald Ssekiganda all featured for APR FC as they secured a 2-0 victory over Kiyovu. APR later settled for a 1-1 draw against Rwanda Police FC on Friday, with Ssekiganda featuring while Kiwanuka started on the bench.

In the Israel Premier League, Timothy Awanyi played 80 minutes for AC Ashdod, though his side fell 3-2 to Maccabi Tel Aviv on Saturday.

In England, Divine Mukasa delivered a standout performance, scoring once and providing an assist as Leicester City played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Stoke City in the Championship on Saturday.

Over in England’s League One, Toby Sibbick played the entire match as Burton Albion edged Rotherham 1-0 on Tuesday.

Nathan Assimwe was an unused substitute for AFC Wimbledon in their 4-1 defeat to Cardiff.

Bevis Mugabi also featured for Carlisle United as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over Yeovil Town in the National League.

In Scotland, Rogers Mato remained an unused substitute as Hearts secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Falkirk on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Uche Mubiru played 73 minutes as Ross County played out a goalless draw with Ayr United.

Ugandan players also made an impact in Egypt. In the Egyptian Premier League, Joseph Ochaya played the full match as Arab Contractors drew 1-1 with Al Masry.

In Tanzania, Allan Okello featured for Young Africans SC as they claimed a 1-0 league victory over Namungo.

Elsewhere, Jamus SC defeated Ethiopia Coffee 2-0 to lift the Golden Cup, with Uganda Cranes forward Jude Ssemugabi earning the Man of the Match award.

In the Kenya Premier League, Bronson Nsubuga Sserumira came on in the 57th minute to help Shabana secure a 1-0 win over Tusker FC on Saturday.

Mustapha Kizza also made headlines after scoring his first goal for Nairobi United FC in their convincing 3-0 victory over Bidco United.

In South Africa, veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango played the entire match as Mamelodi Sundowns suffered a 2-0 defeat to TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup.

Meanwhile in Zimbabwe, Farouk Musisi completed a move to G&T Mining Football Club, signing a year-and-a-half contract with the club.

In the Zambia Premier League, Keziron Kizito featured for Kansanshi Dynamos as they drew 1-1 with Mutanda on Saturday.

Defender Elio Capradossi remained on the bench as Universitatea Cluj defeated Botosani 3-1 in România.

In the Czech Republic, Aziz Kayondo played 69 minutes for Slovan Liberec in their narrow 1-0 defeat to Slavia Prague on Saturday.

Ugandan players continue to showcase their talent across the globe, delivering strong performances and achieving milestones that highlight the steady growth and international impact of Ugandan football.
