Veteran Uganda Cranes star Denis Iguma is on the verge of completing a return to the Uganda Premier League after reaching an agreement with Kitara FC, Footy-Uganda understands.
The experienced utility player, who recently became a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Kenyan giants Tusker FC, is expected to join the Hoima-based club ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Sources indicate that Iguma has agreed to a one-year contract with Kitara FC, with the deal expected to be officially finalised later this week.
His arrival is set to provide a major boost for Kitara as the club strengthens its squad for what promises to be a demanding season across domestic competitions. Renowned for his versatility, Iguma is capable of operating in both midfield and defence, offering tactical flexibility alongside invaluable leadership.

The 63-cap Uganda international boasts an extensive career spanning more than a decade at both club and international level. His wealth of experience is expected to play a key role in guiding Kitara’s younger players while adding quality to the team’s spine.
Iguma has represented several of Uganda’s biggest clubs, including KCCA FC, SC Villa, Victoria University and Police FC. His career has also taken him abroad, with spells at Al Ahed and Bekaa Club in Lebanon before moving to Kuwait to feature for Kazma SC.
Most recently, the seasoned campaigner turned out for Tusker FC in the Kenyan Premier League, where he continued to demonstrate the consistency and professionalism that have defined his career.

Barring any late changes, Iguma will soon be unveiled as Kitara FC’s latest signing as the club continues its preparations for the new season.
